Teltonika TRM240 setup experience

The Teltonika TRM240 modem was simple to set up and came with an antenna and USB cord. The modem is powered by the USB connection and does not require an external power source. The USB driver for Windows 11 had to be installed from the Teltonika website. Once the driver had been installed, Windows had no trouble identifying the modem. The TRM240 was easily discovered by the Ozeki SMS Server, and it recognises itself as a Quectel EC21 modem module.

Personal experiences of Teltonika TRM240 USB LTE modem

Other Teltonika modems and routers have also been put to the test using Ozeki SMS Server, however we discovered that the SMS support in those devices is, at best, rudimentary. We ran into firmware software issues with the modem chip that rendered SMS less dependable on the Teltonika TRM250 modem, which lacks features like USSD.

The RUT240 router, for example, is a Teltonika mobile router that supports SMPP and may be used with both the basic- and full editions of Ozeki SMS Server. However, the SMPP implementation in our tests only supported outgoing messages; delivery reports and incoming messages were not supported.

The Teltonika TRM240 modem performed flawlessly during our tests. In the event that an issue arises with the modem, the modem supports the full reboot command from Ozeki SMS Server. It also bounces back quickly after a brief break in the USB connection. The modem also supports USSD, and all SMS capabilities that Ozeki SMS Server provides are handled efficiently. At least on the Yettel 4G LTE network we used for testing, the SMS send speed of this modem module is very fast.
